What life experiences are making you feel worried and tired?
Anxiety
Poor sleep
Depression
Anger
Relationship/parenting issues
Stress/burnout
How do you escape these burdens of life?
Whether it be through avoiding conflict, procrastinating, self-medicating, retreating into the pull of social media, or trying to perfect, perform and please, we all have tactics that self-soothe or make us feel better about ourselves….temporarily. The problem is that these “solutions” often result in more pain than the suffering we were trying to avoid in the first place.

Employee Assistance Programs
We spend a third of our lives at work. When we are firing on all cylinders, life is good. We have the energy and focus to kick work goals, cope with challenges, connect, and reap the emotional reward of feeling motivated, productive and engaged. However mental health functions on a continuum, and factors such as cumulative stress, fatigue, poor physical health, dealing with transitions, major life events, financial strain, deadlines, difficult relationships, and the ways we react to these life stressors can tip us over the edge.
We can go from wellbeing to unsettled and even plummeting into crisis mode, where we feel run down, and seemingly unable to dig ourselves out of the hole. The telltale signs of feeling low or overwhelmed often show up at work as lack of focus, forgetfulness, irritability, low motivation, calling in sick, and poor job satisfaction.

RU Ok?
Being part of a workplace that notices when we don’t seem ourselves, and shows compassion and care through accessible and confidential counselling, has a significant positive impact on our mental health and our ability to bounce back from struggle.
